Membership in the Union County High School Band is open to any students enrolled in grades 9-12 at Union County High School. Band students are given the opportunity to perform in a variety of settings, including concert band, jazz ensemble, small ensembles, and solos. All band students are expected to perform with the UCHS Marching Panthers during football season, barring extenuating circumstances.

Union County High School band students are active in district and state band activities, including district honor band, all-state band, and solo-ensemble festival. The Union County High School Band participates annually attends at least one marching festival during football season. Several UCHS band students have performed and traveled with the Georgia Lions' Club All-State Band.

The UCHS Band takes a major spring trip every other year. The band performed at Disney's Magic Kingdom in 1999, and on the cruise ship Ocean Breeze in 2001. We also made a trip to New York City in 2003, with a performance at the Statue of Liberty.
